How do you protect yourself from BURN-OUT?
Print Advertising a Waste of Money!
A recent POLL on Linked IN indicated that over 36% of small business owners thought that traditional Print advertising was a waste of money which generated them no leads at ALL!! (hard to believe but true!)
Another 36% thought the print advertising they took out performed below their expectations and only gave 5 or less leads while 27% thought it was an average return on their investment dollar.
Interesting enough – no one who voted experienced excellent returns or had 20 leads or more form their advertisement.
Something to consider the next time the local paper rings you up about a special feature for your business or how great newspaper or magazine advertising is for your small business!
Let’s leave the branding to the big end of town and those multi-national companies that work on brand awareness… when it comes to creating real leads, small business owners need to be smarter!

Life’s Unexpected Events
Hi Coach Cameron here – below is a great article submitted by an expert in helping people prepare for the unexpected. Thanks to Wayne Lennan for sharing this with our readers and coaching clients.
Imagine for a moment the costs involved if you suffered a major medical trauma or if you were unable to work for an extended period of time due to injury or illness. There are medical costs for a start, not to mention the loss of your income and the day to day living expenses don’t go away because you can’t work! If you add to this the need to make lifestyle changes such as home modifications, rehabilitation programs and paying off any existing debt, the costs soon mount up.
“Relieving stress and creating a better lifestyle if you suffer a major illness or are injured costs money – lots of money if you want to do it right”, says financial adviser Wayne Lennan from advisory group Financial Wisdom. “People generally want to remain self sufficient when it comes to their health and finances, but saving and investing alone may not be enough to cover the costs caused by illness or injury”.
The best solution to avoid financial hardship during these times is to insure your income and combine it with a trauma insurance policy.
While income protection will replace up to 75% of your income while you are unable to work, a trauma insurance policy will pay out a lump sum on a specified medical event, such as heart attack, cancer or stroke. “Trauma insurance provides cash to spend anyway you want to help you recover or change your lifestyle”, says Wayne “Many of our clients use it as a way to give up work altogether, setting up a debt free and worry free lifestyle”.
As with any insurance Wayne advises that it is a case of buyer beware. There are many products on the market that offer a wide variety of claims options in terms of medical conditions that are covered.
“You need to be careful and preferably get advice to ensure you are getting the best protection and the right amount of cover to suit your personal circumstances”.

Success begins in your mind
Hi, Coach Cameron here… You know it can be challenging to be Leaping Through Life when markets are crashing, small business is struggling and countries owe billions and trillions of dollars worth of debt to one another – it would be easy to feel like all is lost and hopeless in the world of small business or solo businesses.
The truth is you can be leaping through life, you can develop that business idea you have been considering for a while, you can have a flourishing small business, you can get your family out of debt, you can pay off your mortgage and if you are in business you can put your prices up… you just have to have the right mindset.
You see in any economic environment, the success or failure of the individuals within that environment is dependent only on one thing – what they BELIEVE about themselves and their ability. Imagine if an Olympic Gold Medalists was told by his or her Coach “hey listen, hate to break bad news to you, but that record you’re chasing has never been broken, it’s never been done before – so why don’t you just be happy with what you already have and quit while you are ahead” Imagine if Robert Bannister on a windy day in May 1954, listened to all those around him that said you’ll never break the 4.00 minute mile, just play it safe, it’s too windy, you’re not fully rested and you’re not ready. Robert Bannister had the right mindset.
As odd as that sounds – that is exactly what people do when there is an economic crisis – they retreat, they back down, they complain, they get scared off, and they panic. When billions and trillions of dollars are lost on Wall Street in a single day, somewhere, someone made a killing on share prices going down! Yes that’s right, some people trade shares and they take out “put and call” options. When the markets crash, they make massive amounts of money as their option is bought as markets crash and slide. They have the right mindset.
So what’s your thinking like lately? Do you catch yourself out being negative? Do you find your state of mind is determined by all the bad news and negative headlines?
You can be Leaping Through Life and you can achieve SUCCESS in any area of your life, at any time. Stop waiting for the perfect day, the perfect season, or the perfect opportunity. Stop making excuses and blaming everyone and everything else. Go out into your world and make your own luck, create your own opportunities, and enjoy your own happiness.
Success begins with a thought, and thoughts begin in your mind!
